Menschen für Menschen (MfM) is a German non-profit driving sustainable rural development in Ethiopia since 1981.
Founded by actor Karlheinz Böhm, MfM focuses on reforestation, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. It has restored nearly 15,000 hectares, established 750 nurseries, and distributed 250M+ seedlings. In 2023, MfM launched its first Gold Standard carbon project to restore degraded land and benefit local farmers. Through its “Help for Self-development” approach, MfM empowers communities with skills and resources, fostering lasting environmental and social impact.
